Nestled in the quaint township of Nairne, Howard Vineyard is a stunning, family-owned winery located 25 kilometres from the Adelaide CBD.
Over the past 12 months, the Howard’s team have been busy renovating their cellar door, complete with a new restaurant and fresh summer menu offerings under an exciting refurbishment project.
Amongst the vines and gum trees, the cellar door is set in a beautifully restored stone-barn gazing out over lush green acreage. Keen-eyed visitors will notice subtle, modern updates to the historic property without losing its rustic charm.
The restoration was part of an extensive upgrade led by the Howard family as part of a grant from the South Australian Government, which was matched dollar for dollar by the vineyard themselves.
General Manager, Tom Northcott says, “It was a huge honour to receive the grant, it allowed us to carry out so many exciting updates and new ventures around the property.”
Most Saturdays, Howard Vineyard is transformed into a dynamic function space and during the week and on lazy Sunday afternoons, the venue is a haven for foodies seeking out speciality dishes with the introduction of the new restaurant, Clover + Stone.
Offering a full farm to plate experience the South-East Asian inspired menu features an oriental influence, the product of head chef Chang Koog Le and his wife Jenny Koog Le. Having grown up in his family restaurant in Korea, Chang brings traditional Asian flavours and a distinctive culinary flair to the new summer menu.
Clover + Stone offer their a la carte menu on weekdays and Saturdays and their set five-course summer menu on Sundays.
Howard Vineyard is also famous for hosting stunning weddings with something for every couple and completely customisable packages.
“We look forward to welcoming brides-to-be to the new Howard Vineyard and are sure that when they enter the tree line drive and stand beneath the old oak tree, they’ll understand just how special this place is,” says Functions Manager, Laura Ryan.
Howard Vineyard is open Wednesday – Sunday, 10am to 5pm. Visitors can immerse themselves in a complete Adelaide Hills experience by sampling the venues cool-climate whites, play a spot of croquet and cosy up by the open fire.
